Negussie Deyessa
Negussie Deyessa is a senior researcher and lecturer with the rank of full Professor in Epidemiology and works in the Department of Preventive Medicine, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University, and works as an Operational Research consultant at CCRDA/ CGPP. He has got his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Umea University, Sweden. He also earned his MPH from the Medical Faculty of Addis Ababa University and a Medical Doctoral degree from Gonder College of Health Sciences at Addis Ababa University. His clinical practice and experience go to the early 90th. He has worked as a general practitioner at Moyale Health Center in South Ethiopia, Adigrat hospital as a Medical Director, and Mekelle Hospital as a general practitioner in North Ethiopia. He also worked as head of the health service and training department at Tigray Regional Health Bureau in northern Ethiopia. As a professor in his department, he has conducted many training programs in epidemiology, research methods (mainly quantitative), Implementation (Science) Research, and Basic and Advanced Analysis. He has participated in research on immunizing children in places within hard-to-reach projects of CGPP, including pastoralist communities, climate-hit places, and remote areas in the country’s borders.
